Since 1969, the California Geological Survey has produced numerous maps showing landslide features and delineating potential slope-stability problem areas. There are six principal types of landslide-related maps and reports. Four of these types are advisory in nature:
A sixth landslide-related product consists of reports and maps that document landslide occurrences following major disasters or significant events. Summaries published as articles in CALIFORNIA GEOLOGY magazine are not included in the list below. Summaries published as monographs are included in the list that follows.
Seismic Hazard Zone Maps are available in several formats. GIS data may be downloaded from the Seismic Hazards Zonation Program. Paper copies are available from BPS Reprographic Services, 945 Bryant Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, telephone (415) 495-8700. Maps must be ordered by quadrangle name.
All other CGS landslide products may be ordered pre-paid directly from the California Geological Survey Publications Office, 801 K Street, MS 14-34, Sacramento, CA 95814. CGS accepts MasterCard or VISA. Please use product number when ordering. For information on ordering, click here. For current prices, see the current list of available publications.
