On March 22, 2007, the California State Auditor issued its investigative report summarizing investigations of improper government activity within one Division of the California Department of Conservation.  As a result of this report Resources Secretary Mike Chrisman appointed the Resources Agency Advisory Panel, comprised of current Santa Cruz County Treasurer and former Assemblymember Fred Keeley, former Secretary of State Bruce McPherson, and former Attorney General 
John Van de Kamp.
